Purpose:
Inspired by the article about the central nervous system stimulant caffeine, this illustration depicts a cellular environment of caffeine molecules binding to A2A receptors in the cell membrane. Molecular structures are taken from the Protein Data Bank.

PROCESS WORK

3D models were created in Cinema4D. Protein structures derived from the Protein Data Bank (including caffeine and the A2A receptors) were imported using the ePMV plugin.
