Purpose:
To design a textbook page suitable for reproduction in a medical textbook illustrating the skeletal injury isthmic spondylolisthesis

PROCESS

Preliminary pencil studies of the lumbar region in pencil. Based on these sketches of the lumbar region of the spine I created an original black and white continuous tone illustration using the watercolour wash technique.
I also wanted to illustrate typical repetitive movements that commonly predispose individuals to development of spondylolisthesis.
